Day 02: City tour in Kathmandu
Kathmandu is one of the world’s famous tourist destinations. There are about 7 world heritage sites in Kathmandu. Well, we cannot explore all of them in a day, but we will try to utilize the full day.
Early morning, we shall visit Pashupati Temple, which is a famous Hindu temple. Pashupatinath is the temple of Lord Shiva. During the day, we will visit Boudhanath, which is the largest stupa of Nepal. You can feel the presence of peace in the areas around the stupa. We will also visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. Once, this used to the home of Kings and Ministers who operate the country. Now, a living Goddesses, Kumari lives inside Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 03 – Drive to Beshishaar and then to Dharapani (1860m) – 7 to 8 hours of ride
Early morning, we will drive to Besisahar by public transport. The drive is scenic as we get to drive parallel to Trishuli River. It’s about 6 to 7 hours of drive. After some rest, we will further drive to Dharapani in a local jeep. The road is rather rough and bumpy as we drive along the narrow path. From Dharpani, we can enjoy the beautiful views of mountain vistas. Overnight in Dharapani
Day 04 – Trek to Chame (2630m) – 5 to 6 hours of walk
After breakfast, we begin to hike up to Bagarchap village, where we can witness the houses with a traditional flat roof. We continue to trek upwards to Tyanja, Kopar, and then Chame. Chame is the center of the Manang district. From Chame, we are rewarded with a glimpse of Annapurna 2. Overnight in Chame
Day 05 – Chame to Pisang (3300m) – 5 to 6 hours of walk
First, we cross the Marshyangdi river and enter into the forests of pines. The trail takes us inside a small valley with gentle ups and then to Bratang village. From Bratang, we cross the river as the trail goes steep to Dhukur Pokhari. After lunch in Dhukur Pokhari, we walk along with flat land for another hour to reach Pisang. Overnight in Pisang
Day 06 – Trek to Manang (3570m) – 6 to 7 hours of walk
After breakfast in front of Pisang Peak, we will first cross the Marshyangdi River. The trail enters the pine forests as we enjoy the beautiful views of Himalayas. The route to Manang offers a stunning panorama of the mountain vista. We will stop in Ghyaru or Ngawal for lunch and then continue to walk downhill to Manang. Overnight in Manang
Day 07 – Manang – Acclimatization day (3570m)
Today, we will stop in Manang for acclimatizing our bodies. Also, we can utilize the day by hiking to Ice Lake. If you want an easier choice, we can trek to the Gangapurna viewpoint, which is not so far from our stop. Or, we can hike to Milarepa Cave. The choice is all yours. Overnight in Manang
Day 08: Trek to Yak kharka (4,110m) – 6 to 7 hours of walk
As we enjoy a tasty breakfast in Manang, we gently climb uphill to Yak Kharka. Our trek for the day is pretty easy, as we don’t need to climb any steep. The beautiful views of the varied landscape will always be there. We will also enjoy the view of Sheep grazing in the mountains. During the trial, we will pass two small villages i.e. Tengi and Gunsang. Both of these villages have few basic lodges. The trail cross Gunsang and then takes us to Yak Kharka. Day 09 – Trek to ThorongPhedi (4,600m) – 5 to 6 hours of walk
It is another breathtaking day on the Himalayas. The trail until Kone Khola is mostly flat. Before we cross the stream, we will pass through Ledar. Once we cross the stream, the trail climbs uphill. As we walk uphill, there are chances of a landslide. So, we must be aware of the stones falling down the cliffs. The route becomes gentle before we reach Phedi. Overnight in Phedi
Day 10 – Trek to Muktinath (3800m)- 5 to 6 hours of walk
After breakfast in Phedi, we walk along the slippery path as we enjoy the amazing views around us. As there are no lodges along the way, we need to carry our food with us. On the trail, there is a tea shop that offers the world’s most expensive and special tea. Walking a few hours, we reach the highest point of the trek called ‘Thorong La’ pass. Then we will trek downhill towards Muktinath. We descend about 1600 meters to reach Muktinath (3800M). Overnight in Muktinath
Day 11 – Muktinath to Jomsom (2600m)
Today, we descend from Muktinath into Jomsom, where the landscape changes dramatically as we descend through the Kali Gandaki valley. We will go through Kagbeni (2,800m), which is filled with Greenery. Kagbeni stands out as a contrast to the nearby moonscape. From Kagbeni, we follow the broad, rugged course to the town of Jomsom, which is a headquarters of Mustang district. Overnight in Jomsom
After breakfast, we will take an early morning flight to Pokhara. The flight is only about 30 minutes, but it is thrilling and adventurous. Once we land in Pokhara, you will be transferred to the hotel. After some rest, we will explore the surrounding area and also enjoy boating in Phewa Lake. We can enjoy some drinks and dinner before crashing in the bed. Overnight in Pokhara
Day 13- Drive/Fly back to Kathmandu
We can either drive or fly Kathmandu. We can drive to Kathmandu in a tourist bus along the bank of Trishuli River. We can enjoy the view of hills, multiple suspension bridges, and the beautiful Trishuli River. The drive is about 6 to 7 hours. Or we can fly to TIA from Pokhara, which is about 25 mins of flight.
